 About CeCC
The Centre for eCommerce and Communications (CeCC) operates as a business unit of the School of Business at the University of Ballarat. Through research, knowledge transfer and commercial activities CeCC promotes innovation through the application of new technologies.
CeCC was first established during 1998 to facilitate Information and Communication Technology (ICT) use and to promote the role of the internet through enhanced regional connections, partnership initiatives, and the application of ICT processes. Centre activities were primarily focused on supporting the practical application of ICT in a regional and rural context.
Today, CeCC actively pursues partnerships with industries, organisations, enterprises and communities with the aim of contributing to and enhancing technology application and knowledge transfer. CeCC activities contribute to the achievement of the University of Ballarat 2020 Agenda and mission which is to be:
The leading regional university in Victoria renowned nationally for its excellence in technical, further and higher education, research, knowledge transfer and community and industry engagement.
The CeCC Team also demonstrate the University of Ballarat’s commitment and contribution to technology and knowledge transfer. In the ever changing technology world, CeCC continues to grow and learn in partnership with the industries, organisations, enterprises and the communities it serves. It is developing momentum as an ICT focal point in the Central Highlands and Wimmera regions of Victoria while also increasingly being linked to exemplary initiatives across the state and the nation.
CeCC deploys its capabilities and engages in knowledge transfer, that has demonstrable relevance to, and impact on communities and regions served by the University.
