 Industry Cluster Talk
Helen Thompson was invited to present at the recent Economic Development Australia (EDA), Victorian conference in Geelong.
The title for the conference was Industry Clusters: Engines of Regional Economic Growth and Development. Economic development professionals from around Australia gathered in Geelong on 6 & 7 September to explore industry clusters in detail to determin if, in fact, industry clusters can lay claim to being the future engines of regional economic growth and development. Helen's presentation focused on the Ballarat ICT Cluster.
Issues covered included, the steps taken in developing the Ballarat ICT strategy and sepcifically the cluster itself. The underpinning technologies that make industry clusters successful such as, public website, memeber services, dissemination of research and evaluation tools.
