Research

CeCC participates in a range of internal and external research projects.  In some instances CeCC's role is to deliver the technologies that support the research activities (for example web-based survey tools for the collection, collation and presentation of research data).  In other instances CeCC Team members apply their knowledge in areas including new technologies, regional development and community building.  Some examples of previous project, which have spanned areas including evaluation, industry and skills development, are presented below.  To view details of Helen's research output click here

Survey Tools

CeCC has extensive experience working with web-based surveys from conception and design to collection and analysis. Where specialised analysis and customisation is required CeCC can develop custom built applications. Where fast and cost-effective survey creation is required CeCC provides access to products including phpESP - an open source survey generator program. Find out more...

New Technologies

CeCC has been involved in a number of research projects which have been focused on exploring the application of new technologies.

  • Corangamite Catchment Management Authority - study has been commissioned to investigate the area of web-based Graphical Information Systems (GIS), to present an analysis of feasible options and to make recommendations for future directions for the Corangamite Catchment Management Authority (Corangamite CMA).
  • Centre for Regional Innovation and Competitiveness - Design and pilot services to support an online business skilling project for small and micro business in the tourism section;
  • Monash Centre for Information and Communications Technology - Deliver technology transfer services for regional SMEs in partnership with the Monash Centre for Information and Communications Technology.
  • Natures Cargo - Conduct an exploratory study focused on moving to a live mobile sales environment.

Economic and Regional Development

CeCC has been involved in a number of research projects which have been focused in the area of economic or regional development.

  • Multimedia Victoria - eBusiness indicators project.
  • Regional Development Victoria - Regional Innovations Clusters Program
  • cBallarat and City of Ballarat - Ballarat ICT Cluster
  • City of Ballarat and cBallarat - Ballarat ICT 2030: A Strategy and Plan for the Future

Community Building

CeCC has also been involved in applied research projects which have been focused in the area of community building and neighbourhood renewal.

  • Rural City of Ararat and Moorabool Shire - Community building through the development of interactive web-based services with communities and town in the Ararat and Moorabool regions.
  • Department of Human Services Neighbourhood Renewal Branch - Various contracted research projects including the Evaluation of the Employment and Learning Coordinator Review, the Neighbourhood Renewal Skills Survey Sustainability and Recommendations project and the Neighbourhood Renewal Through Community Engagement and Education: Wendouree West Case Study.
  • Wendouree West Community Renewal, Ararat Rural City - Design and implementation of services to support communities in undertaking and sustaining community skills audits.
